view from on high

From atop this tree

my vision clears

I finally see

the panorama

No longer lost

in a maze

with emotions tossed

in confusion

Where noise

batters my ears

while broken toys

surround me

Pieces of life

lost loves

twisted strife

burdens too heavy

But up here

in fields of blue

God feels near

my fog lifts

Pure and kind

words of truth

cleanse my mind

and I am new

  1. You are so right, Carsten. Yes, I use Lightroom and Photoshop Essentials. I adjusted the exposure a bit and reloaded the photo. Thank you for your suggestion!

  2. Thank you, Suzanne. That’s a white ibis. It was perched on top of a tree in someone’s yard near a lake. I usually see ibis feeding in flocks, but this one was all alone. It’s down-curved beak is perfect for probing for crustaceans in shallow water. It also feeds on lawns where its long thin beak extracts hidden insects.

  3. Karen, thank you so much for leading me to your site. This is great and a real treat for me.
I also taught elementary for many years. We have lots in common 🙂 Also, I don’t know how to make a link to my posts…must figure that out. I see you do it here so I’ll sign up for sure.
Things still very tough here with health issues. Each day is a challenge and I hope to get back to blogging and my photography very soon. I am being patient!
